Manufacturer hints at 8GB VRAM for AMD's unreleased RX 6600-series

In that location's treated to be a Radeon RX 6600 out of the AMD skunkworks soon. Perhaps a Radeon RX 6600 XT, even. Well, however the cookie crumbles, ASRock testament be ready. The fellowship has just enrolled four Radeon RX 6600 XT graphics cards with the EEC, and some other two RX 6600s—all reportedly tantrum with 8GB VRAM.

The ASRock listing on the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), spotted away the e'er-watchful Komachi_Ensaka on Twitter, lists the following unreleased Radeon graphics card game: RX 6600 Crosstalk PGD 8GO, RX 6600 XT CLP 8GO, RX 6600 XT CLD 8GO, RX 6600 XT CLI 8G, RX 6600 CLD 8GO, RX 6600 CLI 8G.

There are two more intimate products also traded: one RX 6900 XT OCF 16G and one RX 6700 XT 12G.

The 8GB of store across both supposed SKUs is good news for gamers, as 6GB stool feel a little slim away today's standards. Existing RDNA 2 graphics cards come with either 12GB or 16GB of GDDR6.

It has long been assumed that the RX 6600 and RX 6600 XT, if in that location are indeed two distinct cards, will work their entry this year—global chip shortage be damned—and when they brawl they will likely have with the Navi 23 GPU.

The Navi 23 GPU should come as a cut-devour discrepancy of the Navi 22 and Navi 21 GPUs found within the RX 6700 XT and RX 6800/6900-series cards. And while it's unlikely to pack rather Eastern Samoa much power as either of those chips, it leave still feature the impressive RDNA 2 architecture. That could make IT a promising mid-range or value-oriented art wag buy.

And in all aboveboard we'll take what we can get.

This also isn't the first time we're earshot of the Navi 23 GPU. it one time appeared in documents claimed to outline Tesla's in-car gaming PC eyeglasses, which Tesla reports as having up to 10 TFLOPs performance. This also suggested a possible 8GB memory constellation.

With that information we can progress to a rough ballpark estimation of performance: 10 TFLOPs would put this card ahead of the RX 5700 XT by a touch, and something close to the PS5's untoasted work out potentiality. Granted, this is complete pretty speculative at this point.

Regardless the correct inside information, a more affordable RDNA 2 card can exist seen as something of an inevitable. AMD will have to serve up an answer to Nvidia's RTX 3060 12GB, and the lower-spec mobile chips in the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050, before long—even with a global chip shortfall ravaging render.
