The latch that retains the front panel of my cup holder is starting to get awkward - not opening and closing very easily.

I have found this video which demonstrates it a bit, and which provides one solution:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73RGYMgeNRw

It seems like the white retainer he refers to might be worn. Can you replace these, or is the tape solution the best?

I realise I could buy the original part from our friends in Germany but is there a cheaper way of replacing a tiny plastic part that does not involve palpitations?

Many thanks,

Richard

No help I understand but I find if you don't use them, they don't break IMHO Personally I can't drink coffee and drive at the same time 🙄

I'd take it out and have a look, easy to remove.

Mine suffered the same thing, plus the trim started to come un-stuck from the door, i epoxy glued it back on, and a little plastic rod snapped inside which releases the spring-loaded part that the cup sits on.

The white bit is a fiddly little thing! Hard to explain until you have a look and play around with it, but another thing that happens is the outer casing breaks in the middle at the bottom.

I went with this guide mostly, might be helpful!
